Just 1.5 hours outside of Vancouver and 20 minutes outside of Harrison Hot Springs, in the small town of Agassiz, sits a gorgeous, completely private Bed and Breakfast called The Eagle Tree Lodge. This beautiful Lodge is nestled among the rivers and mountains at the end of a long dirt road. It is a little hard to find, but if you follow the directions (provided by email and on the website) you can find it without much difficulty.

Walking in to the lodge your breath is immediately taken away. Whether you are there for a girls weekend, a couple’s getaway or a family vacation, this location and property works well for it all. It is welcoming, located in a gorgeous setting and the rooms are warm and inviting.

The room I was in was called “Bella” and had gorgeous dark wood furniture with silver, grey and blue accents. It was lovely! With a fireplace and a really comfortable bed, I was a happy camper. The room was $150 per night and well worth every penny!

That evening I slipped out to enjoy dinner in Harrison Hot Springs. I had never been there before so I wasn’t sure where to eat. I heard good things about the local pub, The Old Settler and so made reservations in advance. The food was not bad, but not great either. Being a vegetarian it can be difficult in smaller places to find a lot of options. I ended up having a Mediterranean flat bread pizza (with roasted red pepper, zuchinni, onions, artichoke hearts and cheese) and Caesar salad with a glass of Shiraz.

Would I go back? Probably not, but it was definitely not bad for a pub!

I headed back to the B&B and was met with delicious freshly baked cinnamon coffee cake, chocolates, a warm fireplace and a gorgeous Christmas tree (not to mention there was a massage chair!). The sky was completely clear and FULL of stars. I have not seen so many stars in ages!

After my evening snack and cozy time, I headed to bed. The bed was cozy and comfy and I fell asleep immediately. I was also really looking forward to breakfast in the morning, and and wanted to fall asleep right away!

Waking up to the smell of fresh eggs, baked goods and coffee is never a bad thing. Breakfast in the morning was served at 10am (perfect for a good sleep in!). There was freshly baked mini banana loaves (YUM!), left over home baked coffee cake, an egg bake which consisted of veggies, cheese and potatoes (so fabulous), mini cinnamon buns, fresh fruit salad, vanilla strawberry yoghurt, bread and bagels ready to be toasted, coffee, tea and orange juice. I was so overwhelmed I had to taste everything, and ended up being stuffed! sitting enjoying breakfast with the other guests, overlooking to wonderful scenery was just so relaxing. The entire morning there was relaxing piano music playing in the background. It was utter perfection.

Leaving in the morning there were pretty horses in the yard, dogs running around and everyone was full and happy. I saw tons of Blue Jays and even saw a bald eagle! What a trip! I highly recommend taking a weekend away and heading over to The Eagle Tree Lodge Bed and Breakfast.
